Well, I am gung ho about all these:
No.11. To 20 First:
Now for the no. 1 to 10.
It's all booked for Jagjit Singh. Couldn't help it, with his soulful
voice and powerful rendition.
The Immaculate Salim Ghouse :
Watching him act is a rare treat ! Rare in the sense you seldome get to see this theatre's man on the screen. But every time he shows up , he carries his role to absolute perfection. He has played
the lead role in the costliest drama ever staged in India ,acted in a number of films like
Trikal, Sardari Beghum, and others of the art genre' .Though his histrionics were wasted in commercial movies like "Koyla" ,
he left an undeliable impression playing Krishna and various other roles in "Discovery of
India" and the lead role in "Subah" on television. Some day I'd love to watch one of his plays in Bombay where
he runs his group Phoenix Players .

1.Bridge On River Quai: It says about all their is to say on creation and destruction. Alec Guinness is not concerned with histrionics. He will calmly and firmly lead you through his ecstasy and agony in a fight against depression and oppression.Incidentally, someone pointed out you could jumble Alec's name to spell ' Genuine Class '.No coincidence this !
2.Brave Heart: Passion for the theme drips from every frame of this film. Probably the most passionate use of the medium I've ever seen. And yet, there's no haranguing and platitude. The music is haunting.
3.Titanic: A visual treat. Great music. But what stole the show was
the humor in the film.Almost missed it the first time. The sincerity
in "I'll be right here" had to be heard to be believed (remember? That's
what a handcuffed and stranded Leo tells Kate before sending her for help !).
And the Scottish music, somewhere in the back of your mind, it will
go on ..and on...
4.Guide:It is not just that I'm an all out fan of Waheeda Rehman. Here
is a film that does complete justice to the original novel it is based
on.And of course,Waheeda is fabulous as ever, only a bit more so.
5.Mirch-Masala: I'm not an art film type. But if this is an art film, then it gives any commercial film a run for its money. It has all the ingredients: the village, the tyrrant, women, chase, passion and loads of massala(literally).
6.Zakhm: Should be the best one from Mahesh Bhatt. It's all in the eyes of Ajay Devgan. His beautiful mother is a smoldered corpse and the whole city wants to claim her. If he fits the role to the hilt, the kid actor who plays his childhood is extraordinarily brilliant.
7.Satya:it is not just Bhiku Mhatre all the way. Here is a film that you enjoy and still u take home its message, clear and glowing somewhere in your mind.
8.The Runaway Bride:o.k., o.k, i am a head over heals fan of Julia
Roberts.
but at least you will have to give her the credit for pulling away
this one!
9.Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron:it's h.i.l.l.a.r.i.o.u.s ! Especially the Mahabharata scene.Satish Shah is deadly in the role of the corpse.
10.Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na: Shahrukh,s energy is put to good use.The character of don is just fabulus .Best scene:S.K.'s pause before picking up the lost ring(remember?it's the scene where the heroine marries)
